President Ilham Aliyev received US Deputy Secretary of State William Burns.

The sides stressed successful development of Azerbaijan-US bilateral ties in various fields, expressing assurance the relationship would further expand.

Regulation of Armenian-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, joint cooperation in global energy projects and initiatives were discussed at the meeting. The parties also noted valuable contribution of Azerbaijani troops to peacekeeping operations in Afghanistan.
