After the official welcoming ceremony, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and French President Nicolas Sarkozy held a face-to-face meeting.

The sides expressed satisfaction with the successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and France in various spheres, including political, economic and others, and voiced confidence that the relations between the two countries would continue to expand.

The sides also stressed the importance of French President Nicolas Sarkozy’s official visit to Azerbaijan from the standpoint of a further strengthening of relations.

During the meeting the Presidents exchanged views on bilateral, regional and international matters.
