President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of the Khachmaz chess school.
The head of state cut a ribbon symbolizing the opening of the school.
It was indicated that in accordance with the Decree of President Ilham Aliyev “On the development of chess in Azerbaijan” and “The State Program on the development of chess in Azerbaijan in 2009-2014”, a new chess school meeting international standards has been built in Khachmaz. The total area of the school, which has been constructed in a short period of time, is 720 square meters. Chess pieces and other elements of the game were used in the construction of the building and a high architectural solution was found. A green area has been established around the two-storey building and landscaping work carried out.
The school has a photo section reflecting the care and attention of nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev to sports and to the development of chess in our country.
The head of state toured the school, was informed that there is a competitions room for up to 40 people, as well as computer, training and other rooms. All computers have special chess software. The chess school has the latest material and technical base. All the visual aids required for studying chess at a professional level are available.
It was noted that the main task of the school is to promote the intellectual game and organize effective leisure of students. The school can host chess competitions of various levels.
President Ilham Aliyev gave a high assessment to the work done at the chess school and gave instructions and recommendations.
