Ilham Aliyev received Director-General of UN Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO)

President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Director General of UN Industrial Development Organization Kandeh Yumkella.
Kandeh Yumkella said his visit to Baku aimed to discuss the prospects for cooperation between Azerbaijan and UNIDO with the President and state and government officials of Azerbaijan. He praised the great developments in non-oil sector in Azerbaijan through successful implementation of the strategy of economic diversification, and noted that UNIDO was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in this field.
Having mentioned that Azerbaijan had achieved great progress in economic field, as well as other fields, the President also noted that developing non-oil sector was among key priorities for his country. Noting that the implementation of second regional development program will be completed until 2013 in the country, President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence that the program would create wide opportunities for realization of very important infrastructural projects. The Azerbaijani leader expressed hope in further expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the UNIDO.
