President Ilham Aliyev has reviewed progress of reconstruction at the Shirvan hotel in Shamakhi.
The President was informed that the building was constructed in 1974 and had been in use until last year. Considering the fact that the building is no longer usable, renovation started at the hotel in February 2010. The 10-storey hotel has 36 rooms and its total area is 6,000 square meters. Interior finishing work is currently under way. The reconstruction is scheduled for completion in December this year.
It was indicated that the main building would have a mini-bar, a swimming pool, a spa center, a sauna, a gymnastics section, Turkish baths, a billiard club and a 60-seat restaurant on the 10th floor. The building to be established outside the hotel will have a large conference hall, various rooms for functions and offices. There will also be playgrounds for children.
It was noted that the hotel would play an important part in accommodating foreign tourists in Shamakhi, a place with a great tourism potential. It will also provide extensive recreation opportunities to those coming to the district for rest.
The head of state reviewed a stand reflecting the post-reconstruction appearance of the hotel, and gave his instructions.
