Ilham Aliyev received General Director of the World Health Organization (WHO), Margaret Chan

President Ilham Aliyev received General Director of the World Health Organization, Margaret Chan.

General Director Margaret Chan expressed her gratitude to the government of Azerbaijan, and personally to President Ilham Aliyev, for high-level organization of the 61st session of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe. Having recalled with content her previous visits to Azerbaijan, Margaret Chan said she had witnessed rapid development in the country during this time period. She noted that participation of delegations from 53 countries in this event was important for closely observing the development processes ongoing in the country.

The President also touched upon the significance of organizing the 61st session of the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe in Baku. President Ilham Aliyev mentioned that this event had created a great opportunity for delegations from different countries across the world to get closely acquainted with Azerbaijan and the works carried out in the sphere of health care. The President expressed gratitude for support that the World Health Organization renders to Azerbaijan. Having underlined the existing successful cooperation between the WHO and relative agencies in Azerbaijan, the President also expressed hope in further expansion of this cooperation in the future.
