President Ilham Aliyev has examined progress of major overhaul and reconstruction of school No 160 in the Sabayil district of Baku.
In accordance with the action plan on major overhaul and reconstruction of schools, which is part of the State Program on the socioeconomic development of Baku and its suburban settlements in 2011-2013 for this year, major overhaul and reconstruction of secondary schools of the capital is under way.
President Ilham Aliyev was informed of the work being carried out in school No 160. It was indicated that two floors of the school building had been commissioned in 1908, while in 1960, considering the large number of pupils attending the school, the third and fourth floors were built.
Major overhaul and reconstruction of the school building are conducted at a high level. A total of 2,300 pupils are receiving education in the school which is designed for 1,000 children. Classes are held in two shifts. The four-storey building covers a total area of 4,927 square meters. The building façade has been completely rebuilt and restored.
After examining progress of major overhaul and reconstruction, the head of state gave relevant instructions.
