Ilham Aliyev received delegation led by ILO Director-General

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by Director-General of the International Labour Organization (ILO) Guy Ryder.
Guy Ryder noted that this is the first visit of ILO Director-General to Azerbaijan, adding that he is deeply satisfied with the visit.
ILO Director-General congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his re-election as President of the Republic of Azerbaijan. Guy Ryder noted that he followed President Ilham Aliyev’s speech at the inauguration ceremony very attentively, adding that the President’s remarks relating to labor and social issues aroused great interest.
He noted that President Ilham Aliyev’s remarks on further improvement of well-being of the population, ensuring of their social protection and creation of jobs are of crucial importance.
ILO Director-General Guy Ryder hailed the organization`s successful cooperation with Azerbaijan, expressing his hope that the visit will contribute to the strengthening of ties between ILO and Azerbaijan.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the congratulations and kind words, and noted the importance of the international conference under the motto “Towards the Sustainable Development Goals: promotion of sustainable development and decent work” being held in Baku.
The head of state hailed the significant work done towards the development of Azerbaijan’s economy, as well as in the field of labor and social protection of the population in recent years, pointing to the rapid reduction of unemployment in the country.
President Ilham Aliyev noted that the country faces the important task of creating new jobs in the years ahead due to the demographic growth in Azerbaijan as a result of traditional and rapid economic development, adding that relevant measures are being taken in this regard.
Pointing to the importance of the ILO-Azerbaijan cooperation, the head of state expressed his confidence that this cooperation will continue successfully developing.
