Ilham Aliyev received President of 72nd session of UN General Assembly

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received President of the 72nd session of the United Nations General Assembly Miroslav Lajcak.
President Ilham Aliyev stressed the importance of Miroslav Lajcak`s participation in the Ministerial Conference of the Non-Aligned Movement. The head of state noted that Azerbaijan is a young, but at the same time very active member of the Non-Aligned Movement.
President of the 72nd session of the UN General Assembly Miroslav Lajcak said that after every visit to Azerbaijan, big development processes in the country made deep impression on him. He wished Azerbaijan success during its presidency of the Non-Aligned Movement. Miroslav Lajcak extended his congratulations over Azerbaijan`s active role within the UN, adding Azerbaijan`s support to intercultural and interreligious dialogue, as well as fight against international terrorism was highly appreciated in the world.
Underlining that Azerbaijan has organized important events, President Ilham Aliyev said that the country greatly contributes to international cooperation. The head of state expressed gratitude to the UN for supporting “Baku Process” and other initiatives. The President recalled that the Global Baku Forum, where important international issues were discussed, has recently been held in Azerbaijan and that UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres sent a message to this event. President Ilham Aliyev noted that international events organized by Azerbaijan are aimed at strengthening cooperation and stability.
They exchanged views over the settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, migration and climate change problems, as well as other issues facing the UN.
