Ilham Aliyev received credentials of incoming Sudanese ambassador

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has accepted credentials of newly appointed Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Sudan Abbas Mustafa Ahmad Abdullah.
Ambassador Abbas Mustafa Ahmad Abdullah reviewed a guard of honor.
Abbas Mustafa Ahmad Abdullah presented his credentials to President Ilham Aliyev.
President Ilham Aliyev then spoke with the ambassador.
Hailing the high-level bilateral relations between the two countries, the head of state said that there are good opportunities for expanding these ties.
The President praised the two countries' active cooperation within international organizations, including the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation. President Ilham Aliyev expressed his hope that Abbas Mustafa Ahmad Abdullah will spare no efforts to further strengthen relations in various fields, including economic, investment and humanitarian ones during his tenure.
The ambassador extended Sudanese President Omar Hassan Ahmed Al Bashir’s greetings to the head of state, adding that President of the Republic of Sudan instructed him to make every effort to further develop economic relations with friendly Azerbaijan.
Touching upon the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the ambassador said: “The position of the Republic of Sudan on this issue is and will remain unchanged. All the occupied territories of Azerbaijan must be liberated and territorial integrity must be restored.”
Abbas Mustafa Ahmed Abdullah expressed his country’s keenness in further expansion of cooperation with Azerbaijan in economic, cultural and other spheres.
President Ilham Aliyev expressed his gratitude for Sudan’s fair attitude on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
