Ilham Aliyev received Uzbek deputy prime minister

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan Alisher Sultanov.
Deputy PM Alisher Sultanov extended greetings and best wishes of President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev to President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev always recalls with immense pleasure his meetings with President Ilham Aliyev and calls him a great son of Azerbaijani people.
Deputy Prime Alisher Minister Sultanov underlined that the Uzbek President notes the necessity of making full use of opportunities for developing bilateral relations between the two countries. He said that the Uzbek President looks forward to visiting Azerbaijan, adding that active preparatory work is underway to make this trip fruitful. Pointing to the recently launched Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, Alisher Sultanov hailed the regional importance of the project.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked deputy PM Alisher Sultanov for the warm words, hailing his meetings with his Uzbek counterpart. The head of state emphasized that the brotherly relations between the two countries and peoples are based on common history, culture and language factors.
Praising high level political contacts between the two countries, President Ilham Aliyev underlined the importance of mutual trust between the heads of state as well as mutual support in international organizations.
The head of state also noted the significance of increasing efforts to expand cooperation in a number of areas, including in trade, energy, and transport ones.
President Ilham Aliyev thanked for the greetings of Shavkat Mirziyoyev and asked the deputy Prime Minister to extend his greetings and best wishes to the Uzbek President.
