Ilham Aliyev met with Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today met with President of the Republic of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis.
The head of state expressed his satisfaction with the participation of Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis in the 5th Global Baku Forum, adding this event has already become a tradition.
Latvian President Raimonds Vejonis stressed the importance of the fact that delegates from 53 countries attend the 5th Global Baku Forum, and noted that the Azerbaijani side excellently organized this event. Raimonds Vejonis said that he is proud that former Latvian President Vaira Vike-Freiberga is a co-chair of the Nizami Ganjavi International Center.
President Raimonds Vejonis presented a letter to the head of state, inviting him to pay an official visit to Latvia. He expressed confidence that this trip will contribute to the expansion of cooperation between the two countries. Touching upon Azerbaijan-Latvia relations in various areas, Raimonds Vejonis pointed out the work to enhance cooperation in the field of education. President Raimonds Vejonis noted that relevant measures were taken in order to ensure Azerbaijani students` studying in Latvian universities.
They exchanged views over the negotiations to settle the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and underlined that bonds between the two countries are successfully developing in a variety of fields. The presidents noted that there are good opportunities for expanding the bilateral cooperation.
