Within the framework of a visit to Agjabadi District, President Ilham Aliyev has attended the opening of a 24.5-km section of the Agjabadi-Garadolag-Kabirli road after reconstruction. The head of state reviewed a photo stand documenting the previous and current condition of the road.
President Ilham Aliyev reviewed a photo stand describing the work carried out in the spheres of education, public health and culture in the Garadolag, Yeni Garadolag, Aran, Kabirli and Mehrabli villages along the road. It was indicated that the reconstruction of the road, linking five villages with a population of 11,000 people, has facilitated communication between the said settlements and the district center. This section of the road, covering a number of settlements, had been in unserviceable condition for a long time. It has been renovated on order of the Agjabadi District Executive Authority using the funds allocated from the Reserve Fund of the President.
It was indicated that the two-lane road of the fourth category is 6 meters wide, has all the necessary conditions for vehicle and pedestrian traffic and is fitted with guidance signing. Landscaping work has been carried out at the point of entry. The road is in line with modern requirements. One modern stop has been arranged on the trunk road and two on local roads. Around 30,000 trees and flower shrubs have been planted and a green belt established on both sides of the road. There is a total of six bridges and overhead crossings and 54 road signs along the road. The construction of the road commenced in November 2010. A total of 80 people and 40 units of hardware were engaged in the construction.
President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon marking the opening of the road and, after getting behind the wheel, tested it personally.
Then the head of state met with residents of the Garadolag village and congratulated them on the opening of a new road.
President Ilham Aliyev gave a high assessment to the work done.
