President Ilham Aliyev received U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates handed the President a letter from U.S. President Barack Obama. He mentioned that U.S. President Barack Obama recalled with content that Azerbaijan was the first country he visited as a senator.

The president asked the Secretary to deliver his gratitude to the U.S. President.

During the meeting, military cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United States was discussed.
