President Ilham Aliyev received a delegation led by Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla.
Having expressed satisfaction with development of bilateral relations, President Ilham Aliyev said good prospects existed for further dynamic development of these relations. The President noted the importance of commencement of the Azerbaijan-Cuba intergovernmental joint economic commission, adding that vast opportunities were in place for economic cooperation. Expressing his content with the opening of the Cuban embassy in Azerbaijan, President Ilham Aliyev stressed the necessity of active cooperation between the two states on an international arena. The President said he hoped the relations between the two states would prosper despite their far-stretched location. President Ilham Aliyev said he was assured the visit of Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla to Azerbaijan would be successful.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Eduardo Rodríguez Parrilla said he was delighted with his visit to Azerbaijan. He said it was his first visit to Azerbaijan and that the country had created a huge impression on him. The Foreign Minister highlighted the historical and cultural ties, existing between the peoples and the governments of the two states, and said that Cubans attached a special importance to their relations with Azerbaijan.
