Azerbaijani freestyle wrestler, two-time Olympic bronze winner, world an European champion Khetag Gazyumov has won the gold medal in the men`s 97kg weight category at the First European Games.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, his wife, chairperson of the Baku 2015 First European Games Organizing Committee Mehriban Aliyeva and family members watched the final bout.

On his way to the gold medal Khetag Gazyumov outclassed Radoslaw Baran from Poland, Nicolai Ceban from Moldova, Abdusalim Gadisov from Russia, and Georgia`s Elzibar Odikadze.

In the victory ceremony, President Ilham Aliyev presented the medals to the winning athletes.

Azerbaijan`s flag was raised in the ceremony as the national anthem of the country was played.
