President Ilham Aliyev took part in the opening of Ganja Regional Information Center for people with physical disabilities.
The main purpose of establishing Ganja Regional Information Center, which is one of the projects implemented by the Heydar Aliyev Foundation for the integration into society of people with physical disabilities, is to provide information communication technologies education to the physically disabled people.
The President cut the ribbon symbolizing the opening and toured the center.
A photo corner has been created in the foyer of the center, depicting the care and attention of national leader Heydar Aliyev, President Ilham Aliyev and President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva to children, youth and the people with disabilities.
There is a reading room, education-training center, audio library, a recording studio for translation of library books into audio format, and a computer center at the regional information center, which has been built as a joint project of Heydar Aliyev Foundation and the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies. There are approximately 1000 books with Braille shrifts and with large prints, four Braille monitors, two “book lover – compact” electronic book read, two “videolight” magnifying devices and a Braille printer for the visually impaired people at the reading hall. Computers at the center have been supplied with special intellectual-development games for the mentally deficient people. Movies with subtitles will be demonstrated for the people with speech disorder and hearing impaired.
In general, more than 60 thousand physically disabled people from Agstafa, Dashkasan, Gazakh, Gadabay, Goranboy, Samukh, tovuz, Goygol, Shamkir regions and Naftalan city would be able to use the services provided by this center.
