President Ilham Aliyev checked out the construction process on the Yevlakh-Ganja road – part of the Baku-Georgia border highway, during his visit to Ganja.
Minister of Transport Ziya Mammadov informed the President about the road junctions, envisioned in the project for the “extension of 50 km-long Yevlakh-Ganja highway” and the Yevlakh-Ganja and Ganja circular road projects. The project on “Reconstruction of Yevlakh-Ganja highway” envisages reconstruction and restoration of the existing second-grade highway and bridges, as well as, the reconstruction of the 7.2 km-long first-category entry road on the east of Ganja, with the funds acquired through the contract agreement. Four bridges, numerous overpasses and bus-stops have been built over the road and the bridge over the Kura River has been reconstructed.
President Ilham Aliyev also checked out the reconstruction works on the bridge in the direction of the mausoleum of well-known Azerbaijani poet Nizami Ganjavi. The President gave instructions and suggestions for completion of works on this road of strategic importance on a high level and in a timely manner.
