President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has received a delegation led by President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Suma Chakrabarti.

The head of state said cooperation between the government of Azerbaijan and the EBRD was developing successfully.

Touching upon the achievements gained in the economic sphere, President Ilham Aliyev noted that the fall in oil prices, it has not had a major impact on Azerbaijan`s economy thanks to the works aimed at diversification of the economy in the country.

The head of state said the visit of the delegation led by President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Suma Chakrabarti to Azerbaijan created good opportunities to discuss the issues related to the prospects of cooperation.

President of the EBRD Suma Chakrabarti said Azerbaijan was a reliable partner, adding the Bank attaches great importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan.

Suma Chakrabarti expressed satisfaction with the projects carried out in Azerbaijan, and stressed the importance of work carried out in the country in the sphere of diversification of the economy, development of the non-oil sector.

The parties exchanged views on the issues related to the establishment of energy infrastructure between Azerbaijan and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and prospects of cooperation in information and communication technologies, transport, agriculture and other fields.
