President Ilham Aliyev attended a ceremony to start supply of drinking water to the city of Sabirabad.
Head of the "Azersu" OJSC Gorkhmaz Huseynov informed the head of state that taking into account the future development until 2030, a 62 km-long main water pipeline was constructed from the Kur water treatment plants, under this project designed to improve the water supply of more than 50, 000 people in the city of Sabirabad, Galagayin, Sugovushan, Kurkand, Asadli, Bulagli, Balakand villages. As a continuation of the project, a135 km-long sewerage system and a wastewater treatment facility will be constructed in the city of Sabirabad.
President Ilham Aliyev met local residents.
The head of state noted that the large-scale work has been done to settle drinking water problem. The President stressed that the drinking water project in Sabirabad confirms the continuous implementation of these works. President Ilham Aliyev congratulated residents with the completion of the project, which will provide the cities of Sabirabad and Saatli and 40 villages of these districts with quality drinking water.
The head of state said the social issues were the main priority in the country, and hailed the ongoing social work in Sabirabad.
The President said the government would continue to support the implementation of all social projects.
