President Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva have reviewed the construction work at Goranboy electric power distribution station.
Set forth by President Ilham Aliyev, the tasks to strengthen Azerbaijan`s energy independence, completely satisfy the population`s and economy`s needs for electricity and build the country`s electricity export potential are being successfully fulfilled.
The energy problems which previously existed in the country have been eliminated through the construction of new power plants and substations in the country`s regions under different state programs in accordance with orders and instructions of the head of state. This paves the way for the creation of new power generation sources.
The construction of electric power substations and distribution facilities in the country`s regions plays a profound role in the ensuring of continues power supply.
In this context, the 330-kilovolt Goranboy distribution station is of big importance for the region.
Chairman of Azerenerji Etibar Pirverdiyev informed the head of state that Goranboy distribution station was connected to the network. Imisli substation was linked to Goranboy distribution station through an overhead transmission line. 330-kilovolt 6th Mingachevir and 5th Mingachevir overhead transmission lines were also linked to the distribution station.
This infrastructure project was implemented in accordance with the State Program on the development of energy complex in Azerbaijan in 2005-2015. The execution of the project will allow creating the second 330-kilovolt power circulation between Azerbaijan Thermal Power Station, Goranboy electrical power distribution station, Imishli substation, Shirvan Power Plant and Absheron substation. It will also allow increasing the size of electrical power exchange with Iran. The distribution station can be transformed into a substation. Goranboy electric power distribution center covers an area of 15 hectares. It will employ 18 people.
Landscaping work was carried out, green areas laid out in the territory of the distribution station.
