President Ilham Aliyev has received the Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Plamen Oresharski.

The head of state stressed that Azerbaijan and Bulgaria have strong ties for cooperation. President Ilham Aliyev noted that there are good opportunities for the development of bilateral relations between the two countries in various areas, including in the field of energy. The head of state expressed confidence that the final investment decision on Shah Deniz-2 will play an important role in the further development of relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria.

The Prime Minister of the Republic of Bulgaria Plamen Oresharski described the signing of the final investment decision on Shah Deniz-2 as a historic event. Describing the project as an energy corridor from Azerbaijan to Europe, the prime minister said that it is a good opportunity for the diversification of gas supplies.

At the meeting, the sides exchanged views on issues related to the further expansion of bilateral relations between our countries in various fields.
