President Ilham Aliyev has received the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Italy Emma Bonino.

At the meeting, the sides highly appreciated the ceremony to sign the final investment decision on Shah Deniz-2. They stressed that Azerbaijan had done a great deal of work both politically and economically to implement the project.

They noted that this project, which will play an important role on the energy map of Europe, will contribute to the diversification of energy resources.

During the conversation, the sides exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Italy in various spheres, the settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and other issues.
