President Ilham Aliyev met with Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov in the state residence allocated to him in Kiev.
The meeting noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine is developing dynamically in various fields, including in the economic field, and that there is effective interaction in all spheres. The meeting noted the importance of discussing joint projects in terms of expanding the trade turnover and emphasized that there are good prospects in this area. It was stressed that there are good opportunities for supplying Azerbaijani goods to the Ukrainian market, including agricultural goods, and for cooperation in the field of crop production, cattle-breeding and other industries.
The meeting noted that there are good prospects in the construction sector of the two countries and expressed satisfaction with the development of cooperation in the fields of industry and infrastructure. It expressed satisfaction with the presence of good opportunities for cooperation in the energy sector and the successful activities of the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic in Ukraine.
The sides noted the need to explore opportunities for Azerbaijani investment in Ukraine.
The meeting also stressed that humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine is developing successfully.
